A BIT OF FLUFF

I should really have just called this blog post, 'insert witty/cool title here'.. probably would have been better!
Anyway, it kind of sucks that I'm no longer reminiscing over holiday snaps, whilst typing up these blog posts. Yep, the holiday is officially over, I need time to grieve.
GRIEVING OVER. How can I be sad when I have fabulous clothes? Of course, clothes aren't everything.. but damn, they sure cheer up a gloomy day.

I arrived home from work to a package from the lovely people at NaaNaa Clothing, instant good mood! If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen me wearing the summery version of this beautiful playsuit. I'm not normally a strapless kind of gal by any means, but for some reason, these playsuits work! (In my opinion, that is). Obviously, I'm not going to be rocking my summer gear this time of year, but it never hurts to own it in a more seasonal shade, right? I think since being a blogger, my legs have become immune to the cold, so I no longer feel the need to destroy an outfit with tights! Incredibly beneficial when the majority of my outfits consist of items that don't cover up my legs!
The fit is absolutely perfect, and I feel surprisingly comfortable in it! Top marks from me.

My fluffy, marshmallow, snowy goodness jacket is one I have featured before, but I figured it looked super cute with this outfit, and definitely added a wintery twist! Anyway, who said you can only feature things once?!

I'm actually dedicating an entire paragraph to these shoes.. I might even write a book.. or a song..
They are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in my ENTIRE life. Please read that sentence three times, or as many times as you need to, to understand just how comfortable they are.
I attended the Linzi Shoes Press Day back in July, (I believe!), and it was quite obvious what my favourite pair of shoes were! Whilst they were releasing their new collection over the previous months, I was adamant I would wait until my beloved shoes were released before choosing a pair! It honestly came to the point where I was checking the website every single day.. I know, I had a problem. But it's okay! I have the shoes! Panic over!
Alright, I'll stop being 'dramatic'.
Basically, you need the shoes. The shoes need you.
They're almost identical to a pair of Dr Martens, (chelsea boot style, of course!).
Besides when I was in Africa, I've worn them every single day since receiving them, and we couldn't be happier together!

This is getting weird now. It's almost 1am. I'm delusional. Enjoy!

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

As I've rabbited on about, I've been on the hunt for some new/unique locations for my blog pictures, and discovering this creepy, colourful surrounding called for an impromptu shoot!
I purchased this super sparkly crop top whilst browsing in Primark. I'm a sucker for anything holographic, shiny, sparkly.. you name it! My boyfriend thinks I'm like a magpie.. quite true actually! The price was a pleasant surprise at only £8, a pittance compared to the outrageous price tags in the likes of American Apparel!
Since I wore the most simple outfit ever, I decided to jazz it up with the showy crop top, and my beloved Grafea.

Unfortunately the coat hasn't come across as fabulous in these pictures as I'd have liked, but seriously girls, if you get the chance, head down to H&M and pick this baby up! I was so beyond shocked when I discovered it was only £24.99!! This is up there with the £90 Topshop coats, and I managed to track it down in my size in my local store after failing to in the Manchester branch! With a little help of 20% student discount, it would have been stupid to leave it behind.. regardless of the 1,000,000 coats I have already acquired this season.

By the state of my hair, I'm sure you've all cottoned on that the weather wasn't particularly kind to me, so I do apologise for looking so poop. We did try to shelter underneath some lorry.. type.. thing.. but still ended up soaked anyway!

CAPE QUEEN

I'm thoroughly enjoying the whole girly twist on what could be deemed a very, 'Jack the Ripper-esque' look. Never have I considered purchasing a cape, (besides for fancy dress purposes), but A/W 14 fashion has been incredibly influential on me, and now I own two! I actually really like them, and I now have a list of printed and patterned capes I absolutely must get a hold of!

This one in particular is from ASOS, and was only a measly £22! I think that's a bargain considering the extortionate prices Topshop are charging for similar pieces! It's super, super cosy, and being plain black, it will go with absolutely everything, so I'm really excited to be wearing this throughout the current seasons.

I used to hate playsuits, but recently I've been absolutely loving them! Particularly ones that cinch in at the waist, and are floaty elsewhere. This one is such a lovely silky material, and it fits like a dream. The back of it has pleather cut-out straps, (which I didn't managed to picture!), but it adds an edgy detail to your basic floral playsuit. I was sent this from 5 Fashion, and I also made a little purchase as well after seeing how gorgeous, and incredibly well-priced their pieces are! It's free delivery on everything too, so a definite winner in my eyes! I've also very kindly been given a discount code for you all to use to receive an additional 10% off your purchases with them! Use the code 'NC10' at the checkout to redeem! (Ps, you're welcome!).

To accessorise the outfit, I popped on a pleather choker, and my Dr Martens. I was heading to my boyfriends for the weekend, so driving in any form of heeled shoe was a no-go! Dr Martens are certainly an A/W staple, and I can tell they're going to be my 'go-to' shoe for the rest of the year!

(Enjoying my company so, so much...).

PALM TREES FOR A/W

I was obviously wrong when I thought I'd packed away my kimonos for the coming months as I'm finding ways to style my beloved pieces in the cooler months!
I discovered the brand Dark Waters quite a while back, and I'd been obsessed with all of their cute, affordable pieces, so I was so excited to be given the opportunity to chose something from their range!

I chose this beautiful mint green, palm tree print kimono that I'd been obsessed with for ages. This is clearly more of a summer piece, but I found it really easy to bring it over to the A/W side of things! I was obviously going to team it with some black to bring out the palm trees, but I also wanted another hint of mint.. (ha!), so I wore my basic ribbed crop top, and my mint green high-waisted shorts. The top is the loveliest fabric considering the price! I hope it's brought out in more colours, as I'm dying to get a few more!
If you remember my outfit post with my super floaty green kimono, you'll remember I wore it with these shorts as a co-ord. I thought they went perfectly with the mint in the kimono, and probably one of the few times I've worn part of a co-ord on it's own!

I'm really loving the whole grundgy shoe vibe recently, aren't I?! My boyfriend keeps teasing me about the fact I say 'androgynous edge' in the majority of my posts at the moment, so tactfully avoiding that phrase! (Besides my use of it just then..).
I wanted to steer clear of the girly chunky shoe look, so I went for my Dr Martens instead, and I thoroughly appreciate the comfortable alternative to heels!

(me getting attacked by gross bugs.. ew).
